~Rest in Power Billy~
We are saddened to announce that William “Billy” Rice ’76 has passed away. Billy played on both the freshman soccer and baseball teams, and was a member of the Afro-American Society. He received his AB from Dartmouth in 1975, his MA (Urban Planning) from the University of Chicago 1976 and his MBA from Northwestern University (Kellogg School of Business) in 1987.
Billy spent most of his professional in banking, his last position being Senior Vice President of Harbor Bank of MD Community Development Corporation. He was involved in several philanthropic organizations: National Black MBA Association (Member); National Assoc. of Urban Bankers (Member); Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (Member); Greater Southeast Community Hospital (Chairman of the Board) Washington DC Assoc. Urban Bankers (President).
He was also involved in alumni activity as a member of BADA as well as Friends of Aquinas House, Friends of Dartmouth Baseball and Friends of Dartmouth Men’s Soccer. Billy also served as an enrollment interviewer and was a sponsor of the Duane J. Gibbs 1976 Memorial Book Fund.
William leaves behind sons Xavier, Darin and Daniel ’19, who is a freshman currently at Dartmouth. We will be sending a card to the family. Our prayers and sympathy to the family, and to all who were touched by the life of this son of Dartmouth.
